The Bonn Agreement

The Bonn Agreement was the initial series of agreements intended to re-create the State of Afghanistan following the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan in response to the September 11.The agreement created the fundaments for the new Afghan constitution

United Nation Assistance Mission for Afghanistan (UNAMA)

UNAMA’s overall function is to promote peace and stability in Afghanistan by leading efforts of the international community in conjunction with the Government of Afghanistan in rebuilding the country and strengthening the foundations of peace and constitutional democracy.

Afghanistan Compact

The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the international community have agreed to this Afghanistan Compact: Determined to strengthen their partnership to improve the lives of Afghan people, and to contribute to national, regional, and global peace and security.

Paris Conference

The government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and representatives of the international community met June 12, 2008 in Paris to reaffirm their long-term partnership in support of the people of Afghanistan, their security, prosperity and human rights.

Afghanistan National Development Strategy (ANDS)

The overriding objective of the ANDS is to substantially reduce poverty, improve the lives of the Afghan people, and create the foundation for a secure and stable country.
