One Mother at a Time
A typical day for Alima starts at 5 in the morning when she wakes up for her morning prayer. She then sets up breakfast for her son and mother who live with her and gets started on preparing lunch right after breakfast is over. She has to get lunch ready for them since she will be gone all day.

Photography a New Opportunity for Women
"Fariba Hashimi, who is 35 years old, and is the sole breadwinner in her family, was one of the ten graduates who, along with the other nine, opened a video and photography center for women called Kahkashan located in third Macrorayan. Her business does well as most of her clients are women who don't want to be photographed by men.

Quality education for all – girls included
Great achievements have been made in the education sector in Afghanistan. However, more must be done to ensure that girls are not excluded from education. Currently, only 35 percent of enrolled children are girls. And, despite overall increase in numbers of enrolled children, the percentage of female students is not increasing.

This two page electronic publication is aimed to enssure that all CARE staff have vital information about Programs, the Support and other key issues affecting CARE Afghanistan and its employees.

Pamlarana
After reveiwing the merit of the various publications CARE Afghanistan is putting out, and the effort and money spend on those, CARE Afghanistan decided to bring changes to its publications due to limited resourses. While an exciting publication, Pamlarana magazine is stoped due to feedbacks which indicated that it may not reach the audience and have the impact one would expect from a "glossy" and expensive publication like this. So at least for now, it is "farewell" to Pamlarana magazine.

Annual Report
After a few years of halt, CARE Afghanistan published its Annual Report for the year 2007. The goal of publishing such an Annual Report is to present CARE Afghanistan's activities; its transparency of work and achievements to its Donors, the Government of Afghanistan, and other CARE Country Offices.
